Michigan Legislature funds $30 million for School Health Services

Michigan Legislature takes summer recess, funding details to be decided in next few months.

The Michigan Legislature went on recess this week after designating 30 million for mental health services in a line item – School Mental Health and Support Services within the K12 budget. These funds have not been allocated to specific service, but rather appropriated as a whole. Language in the bill states that money from this line item must be appropriated.  This will require a supplemental bill to be passed by the end of summer.
This is great news for our school-based health centers! This was made possible due to the hard work and Advocacy of all our school health advocates and students.
