In Memoriam: Cheryl Ann Smith-Warsop

(Years of Service: 2023–2025)

Cheryl Ann Smith-Warsop was a dedicated member of the SCHA-MI Board of Directors, serving for two years to advance the vision of equitable and sustainable health services for Michigan’s children and young people. She also worked tirelessly as the School-Based Health Center Coordinator at Benton Harbor School-Based Health Center through InterCare Health Network, ensuring students had access to the physical and mental health support they needed.

Known for her humor, passion, and unwavering advocacy, Cheryl Ann often joked that she “didn’t even like kids” — yet everyone knew how deeply she cared for the students she served. She was instrumental in creating a safe, welcoming space where young people could feel supported and thrive.

Her legacy lives on through the countless lives she touched, and we at SCHA-MI honor her profound impact on school-based health and youth well-being.

Thank you, Cheryl Ann, for your dedication and compassion. You are deeply missed.
