Roads are important to Michigan’s future, but they should be funded in the right way.
The House plan that passed in lame duck session last week will divert needed dollars from schools and communities. In addition to supporting schools, the state education fund also supports school-based and school-linked health centers.
Tell your state senator to reject the House plan and stick with the Senate plan to pay for roads. Explain the compound effect that the loss of funding will not only have on schools, but also on children’s physical and mental health services.
