PROGRAM OBJECTIVES
- To review food allergy and anaphylaxis fundamentals (e.g. epidemiology, pathophysiology).
- To discuss the potential progression of the atopic march and common co-existing conditions.
- To cover potential psychological and social implications of diagnosed food allergy.
- To discuss scientific research investigating the safety and effectiveness of potential future treatment options for food allergy.
- To share school food allergy management strategies, resources, legal ramifications and role differentiation of school team members.
- To provide an update on the implementation of Michigan legislation to improve food allergy safety in restaurants.
